Same as nexus polyester surfacing veil, our polyester veil is surface mat for frp, frp surface mat with specifications designed to complement the pultrusion process.

Pultrusion is a dynamic process whereby the reinforcement, having passed through a resin bath, is pulled through a heated die to produce a composite component of constant profile.

As the process is dynamic, the inclusion of a surface veil is the optimum method used to impart a wide range of properties to the surface of the pultruded profile.

Surface Treatment 

Composite surface veils included in a lamination process will obviously greatly improve a surface profile. This occurs because of the consistent resin-rich surface the veil promotes.

The consistent resin-rich surface in turn creates a corrosion barrier, a UV barrier, lower porosity, and a smooth or class-A finish.

There are additional advantages to using a synthetic surfacing veil. Resin flows more quickly in close molds. Demolding time can be reduced in both open and closed mold situations. Pultrusion dies are better protected with a surfacing veil.

The gel coat reacts well to the surfacing veil, by strengthening the gel coat and by bonding the gel coat to the reinforcement.
