Core Flow Mat: Swift Resin Flow, Increased Thickness, Lightweight Strength

Dymriton recently introduced a unique flow mat that consists of a polypropylene core sandwiched between a bidirectional top layer and chopped strand mat on the bottom. The top layer contributes exceptional strength to the overall laminate.

The polypropylene core material is specifically designed to allow for swift and uniform flow of the resin throughout the composite material.

In general, the use of a core material in a composite laminate serves to increase its thickness while keeping its weight low. This can be a highly effective way to create a substantially thicker and stronger composite structure without adding much extra weight.

The use of a low-density core material such as polypropylene can significantly increase the thickness of a composite laminate without adding much weight, which is particularly useful in industries where weight reduction is a key factor, such as aerospace, automotive, and marine. Additionally, the bi-directional layer on top of the polypropylene core can provide added strength to the laminate in multiple directions, making it even more versatile and suitable for a range of applications.
