Achieve Superior Composite Strength with RTM Flow Mat – Ideal for Sandwich Structures

RTM Close Mold Mat is a new material that includes a synthetic non-woven core(PP180/PP250) between two layers of chopped glass fibers or one layer of chopped glass fibers and another layer of multiaxial fabric or woven roving. It is primarily used for RTM, Vacuum Forming, Molding, Injection Molding, and SRIM Molding processes for applications such as FRP boats, automobiles, airplanes, panels, and more.

This sandwich construction enhances product strength and thickness. The synthetic core(PP180/PP250) provides high permeability, good wet-out in resin, and fast solidifying speed, resulting in high mechanical performance and easy operation. The material is also easy to shape into angles and complex shapes and adaptable to different part thicknesses due to the core’s resilience and compressibility. The absence of a chemical binder allows for excellent impregnation of the reinforcement.

M1 refers to one layer of flow mesh, and M2 refers to two layers of flow mesh. In addition to regular specifications(CSM/PP/CSM), the material can combine more layers (4-5 layers) and other core materials, such as Woven Roving/Multiaxial Fabrics + core(PP180/PP250) + chopped layer (single/double sides), according to customer requests.

One of its main advantages is its ability to easily conform to complex shapes, which can result in significant time and labor savings. Additionally, the thickness of the mat can be easily adjusted to suit the specific needs of the project.

The core of the mat is resilient and compressible, allowing it to adapt to different thicknesses of parts. This, in combination with the mat’s high permeability, ensures excellent flow characteristics for the resin.

Another benefit of the Flow Mat is its lack of chemical binder, which allows for better impregnation of the reinforcement and results in a high-quality surface appearance.

300/PP180/300

RTM Flow Mat 300/C180/300 is a type of reinforcement material that consists of a non-woven synthetic core weighing 180 gsm, with two 300 gsm glass mats stitched on each side of the core. It is specifically designed to be used in closed-mold processes.

900/C180

RTM Flow Mat 900/C180, on the other hand, is a stitched reinforcement material that features a non-woven synthetic core weighing 180 gsm, with a 900 gsm glass mat. This type of flow mat is particularly suitable for use in sandwich parts, such as those made from PVC foam, balsa, and other similar materials.
