Enhance Composite Projects with Glass Fiber Reinforcements: Expert Insights
“Flow Mat:“
The RTM Flow Mat is a type of glass fiber mat that is composed of two layers of material bonded together with a polypropylene mat in the center. This mat is designed to have excellent flexibility and elongation, allowing it to conform to complex shapes easily. It also has a fast impregnation rate and optimal absorption and distribution of resin. The flow mat is available in thicknesses ranging from 2 to 5 millimeters, with a weight of up to 2000 grams per square meter. It has a resin absorption rate of 1050 grams per square meter per millimeter.
Flow Mat is primarily made up of glass rovings and fabrics, but high-modulus fibres like carbon or aramid can also be used in production. It is predominantly used in the aerospace, automotive, marine, and industrial markets to manufacture components with optimal strength-to-weight ratios.
“Multiaxial:“
Stitched Multiaxial Fabrics are a versatile solution for a wide range of applications where strength, stiffness, and durability are required. The range of fabrics available includes glass, aramid, and carbon fabrics, with different ply weights and orientations that can be customized to suit the customer’s specific needs.
“Biaxial:“
The Biaxial Mat with +/-45° orientation are suitable for applications where torsional strength and stiffness are required.
“Triaxial Longitudinal:“
The Triaxial longitudinal mat are produced with a 0°/-45°/+45° orientation and can be supplied with widths up to 2540mm.
“Triaxial Cross:“
The Triaxial cross mat are produced with a -45°/90°/+45° orientation and are available in E-glass and carbon weft options, with fabric weights ranging from 300gsm to 1200gsm.
With a variety of fabric weights and widths available, stitched multiaxial fabrics are an ideal solution for a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, marine, and industrial applications.
“Quadraxial:“
E-glass Quadraxials and mats are combined to create a reinforced composite material with improved strength and stiffness.
The mats provide additional reinforcement in the z-direction, while the quadraxials offer strength in the x and y directions. The combination of the two materials can result in more efficient use of fibers, reduced material waste, and improved mechanical properties in the final product.
