Dymriton Carbon Fiber Veils – Designed for the Chemical & Petrochemical Industries

Carbon Fiber Surfacing Veil is a lightweight, advanced, non-woven carbon fiber veil incorporating 100% carbon fibers, approximately 1″ in length, bonded together in a random fiber matrix.

“This veil is a thin ply of continuous strand fibers that are looped randomly throughout the roll of the material. It is held together with a light binder and is the consistency of surfacing veil paper—it is not intended for structural use.”

Carbon Fiber Surfacing Veil is ideally suited for several applications:

The corrosion layer generally comprises an inner liner of corrosion-resistant resin backed up by a corrosion barrier of resin reinforced with a chopped strand mat. The thickness of the inner liner is closely controlled to between 0.3 and 0.5mm by incorporating a low fiber volume fraction surfacing veil, usually of C glass.

Our materials are used in this industry for enhanced corrosion resistance and surface themoplastic weled testing static dissipation.

For some specialized applications the C glass veil should be replaced by a carbon veil. Carbon fibre veils are used to give:

Dymriton is a series of PAN-based carbon fiber veils designed specifically for the chemical and petrochemical industries.

Dymriton is supplied in either full width (1000mm) for hand lay-up or in coils pre-slit to 100mm for winding applications.

Carbon fibre surfacing veils and mats, aramid and PBO veils and mats, conductive veils and mats and veils and mats from blended fibres are used in a wide range of industrial applications.

These include pultruded handrails, walkways, cable trays, cable ladders etc., EMI shielding applications, composite roll surfaces, honeycomb facing papers, circuit board reinforcement, fuel cell components, and thin-film adhesive substrates.
