Enhance Resin Flow with Glass Fibre Mat

Glass Fibre Mat is a composite material that combines glass reinforcement with a lightweight synthetic structure. This combination provides uncompressible layers with excellent resin flow and high draping properties.

The glass fibre mat is used as an internal flow media, which saves a significant amount of time as there is no need to lay up or release the external flow mesh or its associated consumable layers.

One of the integrated benefits of the glass fibre mat is its external flow mesh, which makes its flowing capacity impressive. In fact, its resin flow is up to twice as fast as comparable materials, making it ideal for vacuum infusion.

The glass fibre mat is equivalent to and replaces an external flow mesh, saving time and money, with no need for an external flow media or peel-ply.

The glass fibre mat also saves up to 50% of handling costs due to its very good drapability. It can be easily draped while keeping its original flow and mechanical properties intact, with comparable bending properties to a pure NCF laminate. Additionally, it can be combined with other flow mat solutions, such as glass, carbon, or aramid NCFs, and can be produced to fit specific applications.

The glass fibre mat is preformable from 120°C, and its flow properties are very good, regardless of the vacuum level. Its total weight per square meter is 445 gsm, with a roll width of 1270 mm, resin intake of 0.8 kg/m², and a thickness of 0.9 mm.
