Optimize RTM Performance with PP Core Sandwich Mat
The RTM Sandwich Mat is a composite mat composed of three layers. The middle layer is a synthetic nonwoven core made of polypropylene mat, while one side is made up of chopped strands and the other side with woven roving. All layers are held securely together using polyester thread.
Dymriton’s Combi Mat is a type of glass fiber-reinforced material that features a multi-axial core mat made up of multiple layers of reinforcement materials. The first layer is a multi-axial fabric, followed by a middle layer of non-woven core material made of PP mat, and topped off with chopped strand yarn layers, woven roving mat, and more. The layers are finally stitched together with polyester yarn. The multi-axial mat ranges in weight from 300-1200g/m2, the chopped strand mat ranges from 100-600g/m2, and the width is optional, from 2-120 inches.
These materials are primarily used in the RTM process to manufacture parts for nacelles, automobiles, trains, and more.
Additionally, there is a stitch-bonded 3-dimensional reinforcement fabric available that includes a knitted glass core sandwiched between two layers of chopped strand E-glass fiber. This product is specially designed for producing fire-resistant parts using close molding processes such as RTM, LRTM, SRIM, and Vacuum Infusion.
