Distinctive Design for Flow Mat: Nonwoven Type for the Whole Material

Flow Mat series offers a wide range of composite reinforcements using distinctive technologies for designing and manufacturing them. Some of these reinforcements include adhesive solutions, woven roving, ballistic fabrics, braids, and core materials.

Two adhesive solutions are available: it facilitates the positioning of glass fiber reinforcement products for production of large parts with complex geometries, and woven roving, a range of glass tapes coated on one or both sides that maintain reinforcement in the mold for bigger parts and complex geometries.

Ballistic fabrics are available for ballistic protection, using either glass or aramid fibers depending on the required performance level and type of threat.

Braids are tubular reinforcements that optimize fiber orientation and offer good deformability and mechanical characteristics through continuous reinforcement.

The Flow Mat range of core materials is made of a synthetic non-woven core(PP180/PP250) and chopped glass fibers that are mechanically stitched together. These can be used for all closed mold process requirements and offer advantages such as resilience and compressibility to adapt to different part thicknesses, high permeability, adaptable thickness, ease of forming into angles and complex shapes for time and labor savings, good surface aspect, and lack of chemical binder for good impregnation of the reinforcement.

The Flow Media Materials range is created to facilitate the resin flow during the infusion process and can replace external flow media. It offers cost savings and good resin flow while providing various reinforcements based on the final part properties.

One of the products in this range is Needled Multi-Layers, which is a combination of woven roving that is stitch-bonded by needling to a mat without any chemical bonding. By using the needling method, it adds volume to fibers and, as a result, increases the thickness of parts. This range is highly recommended for the pultrusion process and for manufacturing parts that require specific mechanical properties.

RTM Glass Mat FR is a glass fiber-based material that meets the EN 45545 standard for fire protection on railway vehicles. It passed rigorous FIRST tests, including Flame spread, Ignitability, Rate of heat release, Smoke opacity and Toxicity of smoke, making it suitable for underground vehicles like metro and rapid-transit trains.

It is designed for the manufacturing of fire-resistant composite parts, particularly for interior components in railway vehicles and construction. The material has a halogen-free core to minimize smoke toxicity in case of fire.

It is compatible with closed mold processes, such as RTM and RTM Light, and has a specialized core construction that enables it to perform well in low-pressure injection processes.
