Flow Mat is one such reinforcement that is used in closed mold processes. It is made by mechanically stitching together a synthetic non-woven core(PP Mat) and chopped glass fibers. The presence of the core helps in facilitating the flow of resin during the manufacturing process.

To further enhance the flow of resin, a polypropylene core is often introduced between two layers of chopped strand mat (CSM) to create a 3-layer product. This reinforcement is suitable for various manufacturing processes such as RTM, infusion, and vacuum bagging.

The use of Flow Mat helps in achieving a high-quality surface finish and reduces the occurrence of voids and dry spots in the finished product. It is commonly used in the manufacturing of composite parts for the automotive, marine, and aerospace industries.
